The social and political values of today are largely molded by historical knowledge, and our program will provide you with the foundation and skills to make an impact on our ever-changing world through a breadth of courses unique to an institution our size. You'll engage in research and analysis while developing an understanding of the past and specific historical periods. All the while, your multicultural understanding will be enhanced by an appreciation of U.S. history, as well as the histories of other peoples and cultures.

The major in history is administered by the Department of History, which also offers a program in Asian studies.
