When I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. I was interested in becoming a medical technologist, and heard that Mount Union had an outstanding medical technology program.
The Honors Program at the University of Mount Union is a highly-selective program designed for motivated and intellectual students who have set high academic priorities in their high school and college careers. The program provides academic opportunities and challenges while at the same time encouraging intellectual curiosity, leadership, initiative, creativity, civic-mindedness and a high standard of performance.
Two honors tracks are available: University Honors and Honors in the Major. A qualified student may participate in either or both tracks.
The Honors Program is a learning community for students that provides academic and social support to engage in a different kind of learning. It is not necessarily more work than standard classes. Honors courses emphasize intellectual contexts, student autonomy, and connections among fields of study. Students who pursue the University Honors track will complete an honors version of the Integrative Core. Those who participate in the Honors in the Major track complete three courses within their major at Mount Union.
