Mount Union Awarded Second Choose Ohio First Grant Worth $504,000

For the second consecutive year, the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) has awarded the University of Mount Union funding as part of its Choose Ohio First (COF) grant program. The total awarded to Mount Union was $504,000, and combined with the previous grant received, the University has been awarded a total of $709,625 from COF.

The University Of Mount Union Names Gregory L. King ’89 14th President

The University of Mount Union Board of Trustees has announced that Gregory L. King ’89 has been named president of the University, effective March 1, 2023. King will become the 14th individual to lead the institution in its 177-year history and the third Mount Union alumnus to fulfill the role, following in the footsteps of William H. McMaster 1899, who served as president from 1908 to 1938, and Ronald G. Weber ’38, whose tenure as president extended from 1967 to 1980.

    The University of Mount Union’s Board of Trustees has voted affirmatively to add women’s wrestling to the intercollegiate athletic program. The team is slated to start competition in the fall of 2024.

    As part of the Choose Ohio First (COF) program, which aims to strengthen Ohio’s workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the University of Mount Union was awarded a grant totaling $881,496 as part of its 2024 fiscal year funding round.
