Mount Union, Notre Dame College Announce Official Teach-Out Partnership

March 07, 2024

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union and Notre Dame College (NDC) have announced a teach-out partnership to support outgoing NDC students as a result of the institution’s closure announced on March 1.

Mount Union will automatically accept and provide the transfer of 100% of the credits earned by NDC students in good standing. Those students will also receive a financial aid offer that is equal to the net price they currently pay at NDC.

The academic pathways and supportive advising in place at Mount Union will allow for each student transferring in from NDC to graduate and complete their programs in the same timeframe.

“The news of Notre Dame College’s impending closure is a stark reminder of the challenges facing today’s institutions of higher education, and we empathize with the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of their institution,” said Gregory L. King, president of Mount Union. “As a result of our connection and engagement with officials at NDC, we are pleased to share that we are now an official teach-out partner. We are committed to doing our part to help NDC students cross the finish line by providing a smooth transition should they choose to continue their programs at Mount Union.”

Mount Union was one of only eight Ohio institutions to be named to Phi Kappa Theta’s Transfer Honor Roll for 2023 in recognition of its dedication to providing an accessible experience for transfer students.
