Becoming a Raider

I grew up in Louisville which is only about ten minutes from Mount Union. I attended different events over the years and have always loved the campus. One of the most important factors in choosing my school was that I wouldn't be too far away from family. Mount Union had everything I was looking for in a university, in addition to being close to home. The faculty and staff at Mount Union truly care about us and they make sure we are successful in everything we do. There is always someone to turn to no matter what you need.

Experiences at Mount

have enjoyed getting to shadow/observe different school districts and a variety of different teaching styles starting my first semester on campus. This semester I had the opportunity to go back to the grade school I attended K-5. I was able to see the school in a different light - I saw it from a future educator's perspective. The Integrative Core pushed me out of my comfort zone to become a much better writer and presenter. The skills I learned in Professor Laubscher-Milnes's Young Adult Literature course gave me the confidence and knowledge to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom.

Career Goals

My ultimate career goal is to be an educator in the elementary school setting and be a positive role model. My goal is to have a classroom that every student feels supported and loved in. The education faculty passes their love for teaching onto us, so that we can carry that with us after graduation and into our own careers.
