Student Success Starts Here

Help is only a question away! At the University of Mount Union, we commit to supporting your achievements and success—in the classroom, in your career, and in your day-to-day life. 

Our Center for Student Success and the Office of Academic Support offer dozens of student resources you can access on your own or with the guidance of our friendly staff. These team members can help you navigate the college landscape and your academic studies, from improving your study habits to identifying internship opportunities to perfecting a writing project. By working together, we can all reach our full potential.

We’re here to support Mount Union current students, prospective students, and graduates. Develop valuable connections with our helpful team whenever you feel you need some extra guidance—whether that’s before you set foot on campus or well into your college journey.

By scheduling an appointment with the Center for Student Success, you open doors to coaching meetings, assessments through O*Net OnLine about your career goals and passions, and our unique Career Construction Interview process—a well-rounded approach to navigating your potential career opportunities.

We can also help you choose or change your major. Our team will act as your point of contact for resources until you obtain an academic advisor in your major or program, and we’ll continue to support you as needed through graduation.

    Deciding Students

    Whether a student is entering Mount Union without having decided on a major or future career path or a current student is considering changing their major, we can help! Schedule an appointment with a staff member in the Center for Student Success to begin a series of coaching meetings during which a student will be able to take several assessments as well as work through the Career Construction Interview process.

     

    In the course of this work, a student will make a valuable relationship with our support staff who will help them through this process an on into the major that is the best fit for them. We can serve as a resource until a student obtains an advisor in their major and beyond!

    Ellucian Advise

    Supporting Student Success and Retention

    Our faculty, advisors, administrators, and staff actively foster student success and retention with the support of our digital advising platform, Ellucian Advise.

    In addition to conversations with your professors and one-on-one meetings with your academic advisor, Ellucian Advise acts as a hub for notifications and connection points to our staff in the Center for Student Success. Our team uses these alerts to reach out promptly and effectively, meaning we are able to more efficiently offer student resources and increase the success of Mount Union’s current students.

    Ellucian Advise supports retention and growth at Mount Union through intentional, efficient stewardship of critical information—sharing it across divisions when necessary, tracking concerns about students, and providing impactful outreach and support services.

    Training and Resources

    Get to know the ins and outs of Ellucian Advise, along with plenty of other student resources at Mount Union, during your First Year Seminar. Throughout your time as a student, you have access to Raider Experience, a portal you can use to raise alerts and request help locating campus resources.

    Faculty, administrators, and staff receive training on resources for Mount Union current students as part of their new faculty and new staff orientation, along with supplementary training sessions offered throughout the year.
