ASO Concert

The Alliance Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Eric Benjamin, a music faculty member at Mount Union, will present its spring concert on Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. in the Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The concert will feature two student soloists selected during Mount Union’s Solo con tutti competition earlier this academic year. 

First-place winner Matthew Eversdyke, a music education major from Alliance, OH will sing “Madamina, il catalogo e questo” from Mozart’s Don Giovanni.  Schuyler Hollenbach, the runner-up in the competition, is a music and theatre double major from Perrysville, OH. She will sing “The Hours Creep on Apace” from Arthur Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore. 

The program will also feature the Mount Union Alliance Chorale performing Schubert’s G Major Mass and “Hope is the Thing with Feathers” by Eric Benjamin. Other repertory includes Mozart’s Overture to La Clemenza di Tito, Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance No. 1,” and Ippolitov-Ivanov’s “Procession of the Sardar.”

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/veterans and free for all students. Student and child tickets must be ordered by phone or in person. Tickets are available online at or through the Mount Union Box Office, at (330) 821-2565. Box Office hours are from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday when classes are in session. The box office will also open for ticket sales one hour before the performance.
