Being in a Management Role
I truly love the company that I work for, which is very important to me. I really appreciated their open and laissez-faire type company culture, as well as their mission statement. Within my role specifically, I love the autonomy that my bosses give me. They also really appreciate my feedback and are open and willing to try out new methods or processes. As an HR manager, I'm responsible for the entire HR function of the company; including areas like recruitment, hiring, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, creating and upholding policies, maintaining company culture, performance management, and most importantly, acting as a bridge between employees and the management or executive team. My job also has great benefits, which is a huge plus!
A Long-Lasting Love for Mount Union
There are so many reasons why I love Mount Union, but the main (and my favorite) reason would have to be because it was where I met my fiancé and soon to be husband, Jack. We sat next to each other in class and the rest was history! We will be celebrating 6 years of being together and are getting married in October of 2025. I also stay in touch with my sorority sisters and try to get together as much as possible. I love going to art fest and alumni weekend as well!
Career Preparedness
Throughout my time as a student at Mount Union I held various leadership roles in my sorority, Delta Sigma Tau (DST), which I feel prepared me to work with different types of people. I enjoyed serving as vice president of new member education because it enhanced my skills as leader. However, serving on executive board positions through DST, I gained confidence, learned to communicate effectively with others, and teamwork skills, which taught me how to work with others to accomplish tasks and goals in a timely manner as well as learned to navigate diverse personality types.
