Career Development

Career Development's mission is to help students plan and prepare for life after graduation. We accomplish this by providing individual advising appointments and assessments, hosting recruiting and networking events, electronically posting opportunities through our career management system, and making formal presentations to groups (class visits, information sessions, club meetings, preview and orientation). Our areas of assistance include career selection and research, job search and internship strategies, Resume, portfolio and interview preparation, professional etiquette and communication, and Graduate school planning.

Student Appointments

To schedule an appointment with a professional in Career Development call Student Success at (330) 823-8685. We offer appointments for all students to discuss a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Graduate and professional school planning
  • Career choices
  • Resume and cover letter
  • Job and internship search strategies
  • Special internship programs: The Washington Center and Chicago Semester
  • Interview preparation
  • Career fair preparation
  • Salary and job market

Employers and Recruiters

Employers who would like to increase their name recognition with the student body may want to consider spending a day with us to offer mock interviews. Students benefit by the feedback employers provide on their interview style. Employers benefit by word-of-mouth publicity and the opportunity to identify potential candidates. For more information, contact Sara Fugett at fugettsb@mountunion.edu or (330) 829-8211.
