Why a Career in Occupational Therapy?

My passion for occupational therapy stems from its versatility and creativity. I deeply value the profession's flexibility to work with individuals across the entire lifespan and in diverse settings. What truly sets OT apart, however, is the opportunity for out-of-the-box creativity; we don't just treat conditions, we craft innovative, individualized solutions to empower clients to achieve their meaningful life goals. This makes OT a profoundly rewarding and dynamic career. I have always said even if I won the lottery, I would continue to work in the OT field...part-time!

How is Mount Union's MSOT program unique from other institutions?

I am excited about how our OT program offers unique flexibility, moving beyond traditional structures to meet the needs of diverse aspiring professionals. Our hybrid format ensures that commitments like work or family aren't barriers to pursuing an OT career. Our commitment to adaptability broadens access but also enriches the profession with a wider range of talented individuals.

What appealed to you about wanting to teach at Mount Union?

My husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, is an alumnus of Mount Union. Purple has been woven into our family's tapestry over the last 30 years, creating a deep connection to the university. I especially appreciate the small campus atmosphere and how welcoming everyone is.
