Artist Reception

The University of Mount Union’s Sally Otto Gallery will kick off 2026 with an exhibit featuring artist Sarah Esposito.

Esposito received her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Fairmont State University and her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Kent State University. She spent a month in Düsseldorf, Germany, at the painting residency through Alfred University and has been featured in Canvas Cleveland’s 2023 edition of “Who’s Next?” Esposito is an adjunct professor of art at both Kent State University and the University of Akron, Myers School of Art, teaching 2D Composition, Drawing, and Water Media.

Incorporating elements of painting and collage, Esposito abstracts systematic occurrences and interruptions found in landscape through her personal relationship with the natural world. Location, while not being recognizable in Esposito’s paintings themselves, has a significant impact on how her work has evolved.

The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will run from January 26 through March 5. An artist’s reception will be held in the same location on February 19 from 4-6 p.m. For more information about this and upcoming exhibits, contact Mike Schmidt at schmidmi@mountunion.edu.
