Jazz Band Concert

The University of Mount Union Jazz Band, under the direction of Daniel Carioti, and the Jazz Combo, led by John Anthony, will present a concert on November 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Gallaher Black Box Theatre in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The groups will play selections from composers including Kenny Dorham, George Gershwin, Eddie Harris, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Don Menza, Paul Murtha, Oliver Nelson and Billy Strayhorn.

Students performing as part of the Jazz ensemble include Zach Brown of Port Washington, Ohio, guitar; Brandon Duktig of North Ridgeville, Ohio, alto saxophone;  Colleen Gareau of Olmstead Township, trumpet;  Gwen Hollenbach of Perrysville, Ohio, trombone; Michael Jarman of Lexington, Kentucky, piano; Connor Johnson of Solon, Ohio, bass; Jack Madison of Alliance, Ohio, tenor saxophone; Abbey McElroy of Flushing, Ohio, baritone saxophone; Mickey McIntyre of Warren, Ohio, drums; Kate Norton of North Canton, Ohio, trombone; Brady Pierce of Stow, Ohio, euphonium; Adrian Sherer of Canton, Ohio, alto saxophone; Marc Saxe of Lyndhurst, Ohio, alto saxophone; Maeve Smith of Baden, Pennsylvania, trumpet;  Alexandria Tilton of Canton, Ohio, tenor saxophone; Richard Ulam, trumpet and Rachel Vaughn of Minerva, Ohio, trumpet.

Students performing in the jazz combo are Jacob Brown of Massillon, Ohio, drums; Zach Brown, bass; Madison, tenor sax; Vaughan, trumpet and Hannah Zuppe of Alliance, Ohio, guitar.
