Why a Career in Occupational Therapy?

From the time I learned of occupational therapy, I was drawn to its combination of science, art, and compassion, all of which aim to make a real and meaningful difference in clients' quality of life.

A teaching philosophy that fosters critical thinking and lifelong learning

I see my role as a facilitator, guiding students to connect what they already know to new information. My courses incorporate active learning and engagement; students are encouraged to seek additional resources and share their experiences. This builds a strong community of learners who value the unique contributions of both the instructor and each other toward common goals. The ultimate aim is to guide students toward critical thinking, self-reflection, and lifelong learning, resulting in graduates who are well-equipped for growth and flexibility for success now and in the future.

My favorite part of teaching occupational therapy students

My favorite part of my job is running into program graduates as colleagues out in the field. Seeing the success of graduates and the life-changing impact a career in OT provides is amazing!
