Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Justice, Diversity, and Interdisciplinary Studies! Our department serves as home for a broad array of programs that are critical to understanding the world we live in and working to change it for the better. We offer a variety of courses for the Integrative Core, along with minors in five areas — Africana Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Peacebuilding and Social Justice, Philosophy, and Religious Studies.

Each of these programs is an excellent complement to any major and will open up new doors to meaningful careers and life pathways, enriching your engagement with the world, enhancing your ability to address critical issues in society, and deepening your understanding of human experience. Are you interested in bettering your community (local or global), learning about new cultures and ways of thinking, talking about difficult and controversial issues, or maybe just exploring something you've been wondering about? Then check out our course offerings! Please feel free to contact me or any of our faculty with questions or just to introduce yourself.
