My Story

I initially chose the Physician Assistant (PA) profession because my primary care provider was a PA. She inspired me to become a PA through her example of being a kind and caring person while also having thorough medical knowledge. PAs routinely teach during patient interactions since patient education is a key part of good patient care so becoming a faculty member seemed like a natural transition.

Favorite Part of the Job

I love seeing the transition of our graduates from PA student to practicing PA especially when they return to the program to provide a guest lecture or assist with proctoring practical exams. Our graduates make me so proud with all that they have accomplished.

A Unique Program

The mission statement of the University plus the mission statement of the PA Program both resonated with me. When I joined the faculty, the PA Program had just welcomed its first class of students, so I was happy to be part of something that was just beginning. Mount union definitely provides a personalized approach to student education. The Mount Union PA Program focuses on professionalism.
