Meal Plans

Freshman students living in a residence hall or campus house are required to have either the unlimited or 16 meal plan. Returning or transfer students living in a residence hall or campus house are required to select one of the following meal plan options for the semester. Returning students residing in campus townhouses/apartments and fraternity/sorority housing, as well as commuter and off-campus students, have the opportunity to select any of the meal plan options but are not required to do so. Meal plans can be selected in the MyHousing portal available to students.

The dining dollars will be deposited on the Purple Plus card and be available for food and beverage purchases only. These purchases can be made in the cafés or in the Mount Union Dining Hall. Dining dollars will not carry over between semesters or at year-end and if they are not used before the end of the semester, they are removed from the student’s Purple Plus card. Students will not be reimbursed for any remaining dining dollars at the end of a semester.

If a meal plan is not selected for the fall semester for any student living in a residence hall or campus house, the student’s meal plan will default to the unlimited plan. If you wish to change your meal plan, please contact the Office of Residence Life.



Block Plan Options

Returning students residing in campus townhouses/apartments and fraternity/sorority housing, as well as commuter and off-campus students, have the opportunity to choose from one of the plans above or one of the following block plans through MyHousing if they desire to have a meal plan:

  • Block 50- Any 50 meals during the semester-Cost per plan $450
  • Block 50 – 50 breakfast/lunch meals during the semester -Cost per plan $375
  • Block 25 – Any 25 meals during the semester plus $100 dining dollars -Cost per plan $450


Meals can be used only in the Mount Union Dining Hall or for breakfast at the KHIC Start Café. The block plans can be purchased more than once during a semester by contacting the Campus Card Office. Dining dollar purchases can be made in the B&B Café, KHIC Start Café or in the Mount Union Dining Hall. Dining dollars and unused meals will not carry over between semesters or at year-end and if they are not used before the end of the semester, they are removed from the student’s Purple Plus card. Students will not be reimbursed for any remaining dining dollars at the end of a semester.
