Mount Union Students to Showcase Engineering Prototypes at Annual Expo

April 18, 2019

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Students at the University of Mount Union will showcase their engineering projects at the University of Mount Union’s third annual Engineering and Entrepreneurship Design Expo on Thursday, May 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m in the Engineering and Business Building on Mount Union’s campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The event features poster presentations from the senior civil and mechanical engineering capstone projects including the projects that competed at recent national competitions: a mechanically stabilized earth restraining “geowall,” the off-road racing SAE Baja vehicle and the intercollegiate robotic football team.

Students will also present on their international engineering experience, where they traveled to Belize over spring break. Additionally, new toy and yard game prototypes created by interdisciplinary groups of engineering and entrepreneurship students will be demonstrated.

Overall, the Expo presents an opportunity to see the products of the students’ talent and hard work.  For more information about this event, contact Dr. Joshua Gargac, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, by emailing gargacjo@mountunion.edu or calling (330) 829-8234.
