Mount Union to Present the 2018 Christmas Festival

November 21, 2018

The University of Mount Union Music and Theatre Departments will present their annual Christmas Festival on Thursday, December 6 at 11:15 a.m. and on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

This year’s program entitled Truer Gifts is under the direction of Festival Artistic Director, Dr. Grant William Cook III, and Department of Theatre Chair, Professor Kevin P. Kern.

Founded in 2011, the annual Christmas Festival is a musical celebration of the Advent and Christmas seasons. The program includes traditional hymns and carols as well as seasonal concert music and selected readings. The year’s program features performances by the University of Mount Union Concert Choir and Cantus Femina (women’s chorus) as well as a theatrical presentation based on O. Henry’s timeless classic The Gift of the Magi, adapted for the Mount Union stage by Prof. Kevin Kern.

All Christmas Festival performances are free and open to the public. No-cost tickets can be reserved by visiting mountunion.edu/boxoffice or calling 330-821-2565.
