Mount Union’s Spring Engaging Science, Innovation and Technology Seminars Announced

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Engaging, Innovation and Technology (ESIT) series at the University of Mount Union this spring 2019 consists of three seminars led by professors who specialize in engineering, chemistry and biochemistry.

Dr. Ryan Dwyer, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, will present on “The Future of Solar Energy”. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, February 13.

Dr. Loay Al-Zube, associate professor of biomedical engineering, will present on Wednesday, March 27. The presentation is titled “Musculoskeletal Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering: The Science, Data, and Analytics.”

The spring 2019 ESIT series will conclude with a presentation by Dr. Haitham Kalil, visiting assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, titled “Nanomaterials-based Sensors for Peroxynitrite Detection and Quantification”. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 17.

All presentations will take place from 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. in Bracy Hall room 02 on the campus of Mount Union and are free and open to the public.

The ESIT series is meant to engage the campus community by developing an environment of mutual learning between the natural science departments. The series allows faculty members to present an interesting and modern topic related to science, innovation and technology to inspire and further educate the campus community.
