Choosing to be a Civil Engineer
As a kid I always played with legos and enjoyed building things. I enjoy activities that involve critical thinking and that I can solve with my hands. Civil engineering is a field where I can do that- work with my hands. I chose Mount's civil engineering because of my neighbor's experience on campus; he spoke really good about his time here. But, to enhance my skills as an engineer Mount Union offers experiences like research and internships which allow me to meet new people.
Gaining Real World Experience
Some of the experiences I've taken advantage of during my collegiate journey are traveling abroad with the global engineering class, which allowed me to see new things and appreciate everything this world offers. Being part of campus organizations, such as the engineering club has allowed me to expand my the group of friends I have on campus, and most recently, interning with a renowned engineering company has allowed me to go out into the field to understand the different processes each department handles.
