Human Development and Family Science and French double major

I struggled quite a bit academically my first couple of semesters at Mount, which was a big change for me from high school. But after talking with a few people in the Center for Student Success I realized that I just needed a little change.

Continuing a Legacy

What really helped to strengthen this connection with Mount Union was my Aunt Dee (Donna Jean (Elliott-Jones) Ermlich '51). She always shared the love she had for this school and being here helps me to feel more connected to her. Additionally, my sister Carlee (class of 21) is one of my biggest inspirations and having seen the impact Mount Union has had on her life I wanted to experience that for myself. Mount always has, and always will, feel like home.

Future Career

I know I would like to work with kids, and I want to eventually pursue a master's in occupational therapy. I chose HDFS because I love learning about how we grow and learn over the course of our entire lives. I also want to help people be the best version of themselves and feel I can do this with HDFS!

Impactful Faculty or Staff Members

I struggled quite a bit academically my first couple of semesters at Mount, which was a big change for me from high school. This resulted in me losing a lot of my motivation and overall love for school. But after talking with a few people in the Center for Student Success I realized that I just needed a little change, and after changing my major I got my groove back and regained an appreciation for education. Dr. Bertrand Landry has been such a light in my experience here at Mount Union. He helped me to further my love for the French language and culture, and has truly helped me grow as an individual.
