Choosing Mount Union
I chose Mount Union because I wanted to stay close to home, and was offered one of the very first Investment Alliance Scholarships. Without the Investment Alliance scholarship, I may not have attended college. The opportunity certainly changed my life for the better! While at Mount Union, I had the opportunity to work at the Regula Center where I helped with events. Sometimes that included helping with flyers, writing press releases and event coverage. My experience with the Regula Center helped me to get an internship at the Alliance Review, which eventually turned into a paid correspondent position that I held through the remainder of college. My senior year, I also had the opportunity to intern in Mount's marketing office where I learned so much about marketing and public relations. All of those experiences helped to teach me the importance of clear and transparent communication. Mount Union will always hold a special place in my life. It's where I explored new interests, learned to trust my abilities and gained confidence in myself. There truly is something for everyone at Mount Union, and I love that you can be yourself without fear of judgement!
A Career to Love
I handle all things communications related for Alliance City Schools. This includes social media, marketing, newsletters, websites, crisis communication, media relations, event coverage, photography and more! Much of my job involves interacting with staff and students and sharing all the amazing stories, events and news ACS has internally with staff and externally with families and the community. I love being able to interact with the students and staff at ACS! My job isn't focused on one building or department. Most days, I'm bouncing around the district visiting students in preschool all the way through high school. Each day is different and a new experience, so it stays exciting. There are amazing things happening everyday, and I love being able share all the positive events, stories and news with our families and the community.
