I wanted to become an occupational therapist because I always wanted to find a way to stay connected to sports after I finished competing. Occupational therapy allows me the opportunity to work with people of all different afflictions, including sports injuries. This also helps me make a unique connection with athletes who would be seeing me for treatment.

I chose Mount Union’s MSOT program because it was the perfect option: affordable, allowed me to live at home while completing the hybrid program, and lets me work, which is a really big thing for me! Our trips to campus for immersives are great, and they also give me the chance to explore a new state I would’ve likely never visited if not for UMU!
The Value of a Supportive Learning Community for Future OTs
Some of the most impactful aspects of Mount Union’s MSOT program are the closeness of our professors and my fellow classmates. Although we’re in school, this is preparing me for my career as an OT by teaching me how to collaborate and work with others in OT. Collaboration with others is a necessary skill for an OT, and I am getting great practice now, as well as learning to use my professors and classmates as resources to help me learn.

Mount Union’s MSOT program is great overall. There will be tough times during some courses, but it’s all worth it at the end of the day. Our professors truly care about us and want the best for us. They push us to become better students and future OTs.
