Further Developing a Career
I'm a high school physical education & health teacher at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT. I'm also the head varsity baseball coach. This is my second master's degree. The reality is that I began this master's program to maximize my district's pay scale. I love it and have already been apply it to my classes. Along with being a P.E. teacher, I am the head baseball coach; this program has already had a tremendous impact on my coaching skills. A career goal of mine is to lead the baseball team to a high school state championship. I also want to start looking into starting 2-year college program at the high school, and this program is helping me garner the skills to continue developing and executing these goals.
Why Mount Union's M.Ed Program?
The program has a convenient structure, being 100% online. I love that this program focuses on athletic coaching component rather than the administrative component. The instructors not only support students' paths, but also encourage us to use the tools in our own work environment. The seven-week format moves quickly which helps students stay engaged, but I've never felt overwhelmed or rushed to complete assignments at the last minute.
