The Nature to Studio: A Mixed-Media Summer Art Camp for middle-school students (ages 12–15) will be held July 13–17, 2026 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center.
Registration is currently open, but space is limited. Sign up now by clicking the registration button below.
Throughout the five-day art camp, students will immerse themselves in hands-on art experiences inspired by the natural world. Working with professional artists, university faculty, and student mentors, campers will explore drawing, watercolor painting, digital photography, alternative photographic processes, and mixed-media techniques while using the beautiful surroundings of the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center as both inspiration and studio.
Each day introduces a new artistic medium through engaging demonstrations and guided exploration before giving students the time and freedom to experiment, create, and develop their own artistic voice.
The week ends in a public exhibition and family open house, where students transform the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center into a gallery and share the artwork they've created throughout the week.
