ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union, Aultman Alliance Community Hospital, Alliance Fire Department, Stark County Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team, and Alliance Police Department will conduct a disaster drill between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 12.

Area residents shouldn’t be alarmed if they see emergency vehicles at the University of Mount Union or near the area of Alliance Community Hospital during the drill.

The purpose of the exercise is to practice the efficiency of emergency medical, criminal and evacuation procedures in the unfortunate event of a community-wide disaster. It will also give participants the opportunity to test their emergency response and communication procedures.

Additionally, the drill will incorporate the assistance of several other regional and county emergency responders.
