Late Professor Gorman Awarded Posthumous Doctorate from Mount Union

The University of Mount Union recently honored the late Dan Gorman, former professor and head athletic trainer, with a posthumous honorary Doctor in Humane Letters from the University. On hand to accept the degree on his behalf was his wife, Gigi, and his children Eric, Mike, Jesse, and Matt.

Gorman came to Mount Union in 1985, working with several athletic teams and leading the athletic training program. Gorman earned an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts with emphasis in physical education from SUNY–Morrisville in 1978, and a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education with emphasis in adult fitness and cardiac rehabilitation from Eastern Illinois University in 1983.
