Mount Union’s Alpha Chi Omega Chapter Recognized at National Convention for the Fourth Time
March 06, 2026INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — The Alpha Eta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega sorority was once again recognized at the organization's National Convention in February 2026. Alpha Eta, the chapter at the University of Mount Union was awarded the National Council Trophy for the fourth time in its history (1968 and 1972, 2024 and 2026).
"The chapter was recognized for outstanding philanthropic involvement, including their recent award from the Stark County Prosecutor's Office for community outreaching regarding domestic violence and sexual assault, and impactful chapter programming," said Gabriela Botzman '17 M'23, province alumnae chair.

Chapter president, Charlotte Wicinski '26, primary education and intervention specialist double major, describes being awarded the National Council Trophy for the fourth time as a huge accomplishment due to the work she and her sisters have done through the sorority chapter at Mount Union. However, being a sister of Alpha Chi Omega and experiencing moments like being award winners to Wicinski is much more meaningful because her mother is a Mount Union alumna and Alpha Chi sister from the class of 1995.

"Receiving this award for the fourth time is an unexplainable feeling; we were able to see chapters from Big10 schools and SEC schools where the chapter is holding members of 750+ girls -- when you compare that to Mount Union and our chapter sizes, it can sometimes feel difficult to imagine competing on that same level," said Wicinski. "I am a legacy student, as my mom graduated from Mount Union, and being able to carry on her legacy and continue impacting the community like she did during her time in Alpha Chi is so special, and a feeling of pride like no other."

Wicinski's favorite part of attending the conference was celebrating with her sisters after receiving the chapter's award. Learn more about Alpha Chi Omega at Mount Union, along with other sororities and fraternities, and the more than 90 student organizations on campus.
