I learned about Mount Union through my French University in Rouen, which has a partnership with Mount. I wanted to study in the United States, but it is very expensive to do so. The Erasmus scholarship, which allows European students to study abroad without paying tuition fees, was very compatible with Mount Union. So, I decided to take advantage of the scholarship and the opportunities I believe studying in America provides by attending Mount Union.
Adjusting to College and the U.S.
Orientation week was a great opportunity to meet people. The international student services, Dawn Adams and Kimberly Hajec, are also doing an amazing job at helping us international students adjust to college life at Mount Union as well as become acclimated to the United States in general. Mount Union is a big family. People pay attention to each student, and I believe that a lot is done to ensure that students are making the most out of their college experience.
Class and Campus Atmosphere
The professors at Mount Union are amazing and always employ innovative teaching methods to help students better understand information. Even though English is my third language, I do not have any difficulties understanding information in my classes. Moreover, there is always something to do on campus, such as games, activities and events. The fact that students have access to the MAAC is also a huge benefit, as it personally helps me de-stress and stay fit.
The Mount Union Difference
In comparison to my French colleges/universities, I believe that Mount Union provides a better quality of education. The campus is very dynamic, and there is advanced equipment and services offered at Mount that aids in our education. For example the IT help desk has been very helpful for me when I encountered computer issues. In my marketing class at Mount Union, I am excited to be working on a business plan for a real company. This class encourages us work with the concepts and principles we have learned about and allows us to apply these to the professional world. To potential students, I would advise you not to hesitate in deciding to attend Mount Union: It’s truly a phenomenal university.
Choosing International Business
My parents are business owners, so I have grown up in a business atmosphere. As I grew up, I spent time helping my father in his shop and consequently developed a passion for business at a young age. Moreover, I love languages; I already speak about five languages. So international business, which combines my passion for business and interest in language, is the perfect choice for me.
Future Career Goals
My ultimate career goal is to become a negotiator. By studying here, I am improving my English skills everyday a little bit more. Studying abroad is the perfect way to become fluent in a language. Studying abroad is always a good way to learn from life and from yourself.
