Why Mount Union?
My grandparents are alumni of Mount Union, and I grew up attending football games with them. But, being able to be apart of 91.1 WRMU and working on things that I am passionate about are what make me feel at home at Mount Union. Lynn Riggle has really helped me succeed in Raider Student Media "RSM." I became sports director of RSM as a sophomore, and she was always there to help me out and give me the confidence to do what was required of me. Working at RSM has taught me so much and Lynn has given me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes and successes which I appreciate very much.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
I have worked as a sports director of 91.1 WRMU -- working with sports information commentating and being apart of games. I got to travel to Seattle last year with 91.1 WRMU for CBI. Working for 91.1 WRMU has been the greatest experience for me because I have learned so much, got to express myself, and have made so many great friends. I went to Germany in the summer of 2025 to study abroad. There, I took a German politics course and an intermediate German language course. I met a lot of new people that I became good friends with and some that I still talk to. I traveled to Hamburg, Stuttgart, Schwerin, Berlin, and Vienna. Some of them were organized by USAC and a few of them were just with other people who were also studying abroad.
Overcoming Obstacles in College
The obstacle I've worked on overcoming is burnout from overworking myself as a college student. Burnout is really tough, but I find that getting to do my favorite things really helps me out. If the weather permits, being outside always rejuvenates me, but being with friends or family helps me too; whether that is playing sports with them or just hanging out. I love legos and those also help me relax very much.
