Message from the Director

Welcome to the School of Nursing at the University of Mount Union!

At Mount Union, we are proud of the nurses and healthcare leaders who have come through our programs, and we are even more excited about the future nurses who are just beginning their journey with us. There is a reason we say, “The best nurses wear purple!”

Our faculty and staff are committed to supporting you throughout your nursing education and helping you become a knowledgeable, confident, compassionate, and well-rounded nurse. Nursing is both a science and an art, and your education at Mount Union will challenge you academically while giving you opportunities to develop the critical thinking, leadership, communication, and hands-on skills needed to make a difference in the lives of your patients and communities.

Your experience at Mount Union is also about much more than the classroom. We want you to be involved, find what you enjoy, and make the most of your college experience. Our nursing students are athletes, student leaders, members of clubs and Greek life, study abroad participants, and active members of the Mount Union community. We believe you should not have to choose between becoming a nurse and pursuing the other things that matter to you. Our faculty work alongside coaches, advisors, and campus partners to help support YOU and your goals.

Most importantly, when you become a Mount Union nursing student, you become part of our School of Nursing community. We want you to ask questions, get involved, challenge yourself, and take advantage of every opportunity available to you.

It is truly a privilege to serve as the Director of Nursing and to work alongside our incredible students, faculty, and staff. Whether you are just beginning to explore nursing or are already part of our program, I am excited to welcome you to the School of Nursing and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish.

Explore. Experience. Excel. And wear your purple proudly!

Dr. Kristian Bowling, DNP, RN
