Why be a Physician Assistant?

The main reason I chose the PA profession is because of the flexibility of the career. Lateral mobility--the idea of being able to switch specialties throughout your career--was something that appealed to me, as I have always been the type of person who enjoys having options and the ability to change my mind. Being a PA allows me to spend valuable time with patients and their families, as well as have autonomy in my career. I look forward to working as a team with other healthcare providers in order to provide the best care possible to patients.

Choosing Mount Union

I chose Mount Union's PA program for a few reasons. I initially looked into applying to Mount Union because the campus gives me the ability to commute from my childhood home and spend time with my family. After doing more research, talking with program faculty, and interviewing, I continued to learn about the benefits of the program. The PANCE pass rate speaks for itself; however, the staff and my classmates and friends are something that cannot be matched. Everyone is so willing to help, and the faculty are genuinely interested in teaching and engaging the class.
