Frazier Recognized by Ohio College Personnel Association

John FrazierALLIANCE, Ohio – John Frazier, vice president for student affairs and dean of students at the University of Mount Union, recently received the 2017-18 Gerald L. Saddlemire Award from the Ohio College Personnel Association.

To receive the award, a person working in the field of student affairs must have a history of mentoring graduate and undergraduate students throughout his or her career. Recipients receiving the award are noted for being supportive educational administrators and contributing significantly to the ideals of the student affairs profession.

The award is given to an individual who upholds the ideas and values of which Saddlemire believed. He believed each person was an individual and their individuality is their greatest strength.

Frazier was nominated by many of his current colleagues at Mount Union as well as colleagues from various other academic institutions. Throughout his career, Frazier has mentored hundreds of students. His dedication to helping students has persisted throughout his time at Mount Union as well as his time at Ashland University, The Ohio State University, Heidelberg College and Baker University.

Frazier’s colleagues recognized how he upheld Saddlemire’s ideals and nominated him for the prestigious award.
