Metropolitan Opera Tenor Valdes '83 To Host Voice Master Class

Eduardo ValdesALLIANCE, Ohio – University of Mount Union alumnus and Metropolitan Opera tenor Eduardo Valdes ’83 will be holding a voice master class on Friday, May 11 on the Mount Union campus. The masterclass will be presented to selected students and will begin at 7 p.m.

Valdes is in his 25th consecutive season at the Metropolitan Opera and has completed 645 performances in 34 productions. His performances have taken him all over the world, including Europe, South America and Asia. Among other endeavors, he maintains the Valdes Voice Studio, which is his private vocal studio in New York City. Valdes is committed to teaching the next generation of singers the best bel canto technique and sharing his experiences with them.

The masterclass will be located in Presser Recital Hall in the Giese Center for Performing Arts. Complimentary tickets may be obtained by visiting the box office in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts, which is open Monday-Friday, 1 - 5 p.m., or by calling (330) 821-2565.
