September 02, 2021

ALLIANCE, Ohio — For the 11th consecutive year, the University of Mount Union was ranked among the best baccalaureate colleges and universities in Washington Monthly’s 2021 rankings. The University was ranked 29th out of 244 institutions across the country, which is the highest position Mount Union has achieved, up an incredible 64 spots since 2017. That ranking placed Mount Union fourth among Ohio institutions.

Mount Union was also named a “Best Bang for the Buck” school for the fifth straight year and was ranked seventh in Ohio in that category. The University was also ranked 17th in the country and second in Ohio for community service, with the national ranking up 16 spots from 2020 and 29 spots from 2019.

In addition, Mount Union was also named one of 204 institutions across the country as a “Best College for Student Voting,” which is a new ranking for 2021. Only eight institutions in Ohio earned this honor.

“These rankings are an affirmation of the transformational and positive change provided to Mount Union students by our faculty and staff colleagues,” said Mount Union President Tom Botzman. “It is affirming to receive recognition for service and civic engagement, which is fundamental to our mission of responsible citizenship.”
