Mount Union PA Students Take Second in National Ultrasound Competition

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — Competing against some of the largest and most prestigious institutions across the country, the University of Mount Union’s Physician Assistant Studies (PA) Program placed second at the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA)’s 2026 iScan competition.
As part of the AAPA’s Annual Conference in New Orleans, Mount Union fielded two teams to compete against 44 teams of peers to demonstrate their skill and knowledge of Point-Of-Care-Ultrasound (POCUS) technology.
Mount Union’s PA team bested teams from Duke University, Butler University and Elon University before eventually falling to Yale University in the championship round. This was the second consecutive year that Mount Union made the finals in this competition, further illustrating the program’s continued commitment to innovation, hands-on learning, and student excellence.
