Mount Union to Host Virtual Voting Panel with Election Officials March 25

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union is hosting a virtual panel with state and local election officials on Thursday, March 25 at 11:15 a.m. 

The event, titled “Voting Today: Changes and Challenges” is a discussion with Kim Fusco, director of the Columbiana County Board of Elections, Regine Johnson, deputy director of the Stark County Board of Elections, Joyce Kale-Pesta, director of the Mahoning County Board of Elections and Merle Madrid, the chief of staff to Ohio Secretary of State Frank Larose. 

The panel will be moderated by Mount Union student Sky McCloskey, a political science major of Vienna, Ohio. 

This is one of many initiatives from Mount Union to increase civic engagement. The institution was recently recognized as a National Voter Friendly Campus by the Fair Election Center’s Campus Vote Project, as well as earning a silver seal for voter engagement from the ALL IN Challenge.

The event will be held virtually via Zoom and registration is required.
