Mount Union’s MSN Program Graduates First Cohort
June 10, 2026ALLIANCE — Continuing the tradition of developing passionate and knowledgeable nursing leaders, the University of Mount Union is pleased to announce the first cohort of graduates from its Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Family Nurse Practitioner program.
These nurses earned their degrees in less than two years, all while continuing to work in their respective nursing disciplines. This achievement allows the graduates to grow in their careers and provide primary care services to all patients.
“The special thing about this program is the wide variety of specialty certifications and degrees, clinical backgrounds and teaching experience that our professors encompass,” said Sydney Cooper ’19, M’26. “Mount Union offers an environment where students can advance their education while working towards accomplishing long-term goals.”

“Our inaugural cohort represents exactly what this program was built to support, working nurses who are ready to take the next step in their careers while continuing to serve their communities,” said FNP Program Coordinator Linda Specht-Trainer. “We are proud to see them graduate prepared to make a meaningful impact as family nurse practitioners.”
Mount Union’s MSN program recently earned accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), joining its direct-entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and its Post-Master’s FNP Certificate offerings.
The next cohort begins in August and applications are open now. To learn more, visit mountunion.edu/msn.
