New Medical Science Pathway Established Between Mount Union, Stark State

ALLIANCE — Building off previous successful partnerships and a history of strength in allied health fields, the University of Mount Union and Stark State College are pleased to announce a new pathway focused on medical science. 

The Associate of Science degree in pre-medical to Bachelor of Science degree in biology pathway provides a clear track for students interested in pursuing a career and graduate study in physician assistant (PA) studies. This opportunity will provide exposure to additional requirements sought by many PA programs across the country while fulfilling the degree requirements for both an associate and bachelor’s degree.

"Navigating a seamless academic journey from Stark State College's Associate of Science Degree in pre-medical to Mount Union's Bachelor of Science degree in biology lays a solid foundation for aspiring physician assistants,” said Christian Lopez, director of transfer and readmission at Mount Union. “This pathway not only bridges academic pursuits but fosters the development of future healthcare leaders, shaping their knowledge and skills for the challenges ahead."
