Ribbon-Cutting Held for Dynamic New PT, OT Facility
October 16, 2026ALLIANCE — Members of the University of Mount Union campus community and its Board of Trustees came together to celebrate the renovated facility that is now home to its Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) programs.
The facility, located at 149 E. Simpson St. in Alliance, is a short walk from the center of campus. Along with industry-leading equipment, the space includes nine faculty offices, a dedicated study area, a student lounge, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a lunchroom and an outdoor patio for student downtime.

“When we talk about preparing students for meaningful lives and successful careers, this is exactly what we mean,” said Mount Union President Greg King. “Our physical therapy and occupational therapy programs are helping meet real needs in our communities while equipping students for professions that change lives every day.”
“This facility provides our physical therapy and occupational therapy students with opportunities to learn, practice, collaborate and grow in an environment designed specifically for the work they are preparing to do,” said Dr. Bill Cunion, vice president for academic affairs at Mount Union. “Our faculty have built outstanding programs that combine rigorous academics with meaningful hands-on experiences. This new space strengthens our ability to deliver that experience and positions these programs well into the future.”

The upgraded facility was made possible in large part by estate gifts from Mary Ann Stoctum '55 and Josephine Regenold '52, whose generosity will impact generations of Purple Raiders and the communities they go on to serve. The renovation was also generously supported by community members Russ and Anne Taub.
