A member of the Mount Union faculty since 2011, Braa has served on numerous campus committees and presented workshops both on campus and at conferences. She was also the 2024 recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award from Mount Union.

Braa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from the University of Southern Colorado and both a Master’s and Doctorate in Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.

One student nominator said, “The first time I met this professor, she was already networking with me and introducing me to new people that I would not have met if it was not for her. In the sport business world, men tend to outnumber the amount of women in the room, but this professor always makes sure she is heard and her opinion is voiced which has always inspired me. She is one of the reasons I decided to pursue a career in sports.”

The Great Teacher Award was initiated in 1962 and is sponsored by the Alumni Association to recognize excellence in teaching at Mount Union. Learn more about the award at mountunion.edu/great-teacher-award.
