ALLIANCE, Ohio – Alliance residents and members of the Alliance business community are invited to attend a Community Day, hosted by the University of Mount Union and Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, on Thursday, June 29, 2023. The event will offer an opportunity to grab a bite to eat from a number of local food trucks and catch a sneak peek of a Bluecoats’ rehearsal. 

The Community Day will kick off at 5 p.m., featuring several food trucks in the University parking lot located at the corner of State Street and Rockhill Avenue.  Food trucks slated for attendance include Southern Thangs, Cheezylicious, Sea Food-N-Eat, and Koda Concessions (Hawaiian shaved ice). The food trucks will be on site until 9 p.m. and will be available rain or shine. 

Community members are invited to stay on campus for an exclusive opportunity to sit in on a Bluecoats’ rehearsal beginning at 6:45 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.

In February, the world-champion Bluecoats and the Mount Union announced the relocation of Bluecoats’ annual Spring Training to the Mount Union campus. The Bluecoats will be on campus this summer through Tuesday, July 4.

The camp has brought more than 230 performers and staff members to the campus and Alliance community. Bluecoats is a nationally-known organization and a longtime staple of Stark County, and the re-location of its camp is bringing awareness to Alliance, additional visitors to our campus and community, and a positive economic impact on the area.
