January 22, 2021

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Wendy Ziems-Mueller as the director of its fully-online MBA program.

Ziems-Mueller joins Mount Union following more than a decade with Tiffin University, where she served as the associate dean of graduate programs after a stint as the dean of associate’s degree programs from 2009-2011. She also served as an associate professor of management, teaching in Tiffin’s MBA program since 2011.

During her time at Tiffin, Ziems-Mueller chaired multiple accreditation teams, managed international student academic programs and redesigned the institution’s MBA program. She was also a member of the Graduate Council, Women’s Leadership Forum and the School of Business Leadership Team, while also serving as chair of the institution’s University Curriculum Committee on two separate occasions.

"I am honored and excited to be joining the Mount Union family!” Ziems-Mueller said. “My passion for education and commitment to graduate education drives me to focus on developing and mentoring students for success. It will be a privilege to help build the new MBA program and connect it to UMU's mission of fulfilling lives, meaningful work, and responsible citizenship. I look forward to working with the team and community in this exciting endeavor."

A three-time nominee for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs’ Faculty of the Year, Ziems-Mueller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and an MBA from Heidelberg University, a Master of Education in higher education administration from Tiffin University, and a Doctor of Management in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix.

“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Ziems-Mueller to the Department of Business as director of the MBA program,” said Dr. Anne Christo-Baker, professor of business administration and Chair of Mount Union’s Department of Business. “Her wealth of knowledge and experience coupled with her commitment to student success made her stand out from a pool of over 140 candidates. I am confident that her leadership will ensure our MBA students receive a high-quality education and the personalized attention that are Mount Union’s hallmarks."
