Working as an Auditor
I am tasked with providing core assurance services to large, public companies. I am responsible for analyzing the operational and financial processes to ensure compliance with industry and federal regulations. I like the ability to communicate openly with my team and clients. Being granted the responsibility to speak to managers, partners, and controllers is a rewarding experience and gives me a sense of importance on the team. I love being able to demonstrate to my team that I am dependable and capable of effective communication between Ernst and Young and the clients I audit.
I chose Mount Union for the small campus feel, academic rigor, and the top-tier athletic programs. Mount Union was the perfect university to help me achieve my goals beyond graduation. Bouncing from football, to track, to a full-time internship in three consecutive years was challenging, but those experiences have molded me into the man I am today. Time management is the most invaluable lesson learned from my involvement in extracurriculars. These events taught me how to sacrifice and prioritize to be successful in the classroom, on the field, and in the work force. My four years at Mount Union challenged me to grow, adapt, and learn, and that is an experience I will never forget.
I love Mount Union because of the students and faculty. I loved living with my best friends for four years, and I felt extremely privileged to feel so close to the faculty. I felt like I belonged at Mount Union from day one! I wish I could go back and relive the small community life again, as this experience helped me to mature into a professional. I follow Mount Union on all social media platforms, and I also watch football games as often as possible! I am always proud to see fellow Raiders achieving great feats, and I am excited for their futures. I can't wait to see some Raiders in my line of work soon!
One goal that I recently achieved was obtaining my CPA license. This was the most accomplished I have felt in my life, and I owe so much of this achievement to my professors at Mount Union. Another goal I would like to accomplish in my career is to become a controller over the accounting department for a company.
