My high school has a longstanding connection with Mount Union, I knew several alumni who highly valued their 4-year experiences, and became convinced Mount Union was a place that would meet both my academic and personal goals.

Wanting to be a Nurse

My career goal is to become a compassionate nurse who can provide high-quality care to patients. Mount Union is preparing me for that goal by offering a great nursing program, supportive faculty, and practical learning opportunities. One day during a class, my teacher suddenly passed out, and no one knew what to do to help him. I realized then how important it is to have the skills to act in critical situations. Since my parents work in healthcare, I’d always been interested in their work, and that moment inspired me to be a nurse so I can care for people when they need it most.

Advice to Prospective Students

My advice to high school students is to find a university where you do feel comfortable. At Mount Union, the small campus, supportive faculty, and kind classmates create a warm environment that makes it easy to get involved and build deep connections. Finding a place where you feel accepted and supported is what makes college life truly fulfilling.

Why Mount Union?

I had always wanted to study abroad in high school, but Covid-19 made it impossible. My high school has a longstanding connection with Mount Union, I knew several alumni who highly valued their 4-year experiences. I was also interested in the high quality nursing program and became convinced Mount Union was a place that would meet both my academic and personal goals. I also like traveling and have visited Italy, Germany, Hawaii, Canada, and Taiwan, which has given me a chance to experience different cultures. At Mount Union, I am able to learn and adapt to the American culture and different education system.
