Mount Union Student Athlete Selected to Compete in the 2022 Deaflympics

Tyler Stack '24, is actively preparing for his debut on the USA Deaf Men's National Soccer Team as they travel to Caxias do Dul, Brazil this spring to compete in the Deaflympics.

Mount Union Faculty Awarded Course Material Grants from OhioLINK

Two University of Mount Union faculty. members were recently awarded the Ohio
M Library and Information Network (OhioLINK) Course Redesign Grants to aid in teaching with Open Education Resources (OER), which are high quality, adaptable course materials that do not cost anything for students to use.

Mount Union PT Professoor Bansal Earns National Research Award

Kanika Bansal, assistant professor of physical therapy at the University of Mount Union, was recently presented with the 2022 Post Professional Student Research Award at the American Physical Therapy Association's Combined Sections Meeting.

Studying abroad is immensely popular, and Mount Union is very encouraging to do so. However, it is also very welcoming to international and exchange students wanting to study abroad in the U.S.

Lazzara '24 First Mount Union Student to Present at Injury Biomechanics Symposium

Braydon Lazzara ’24 made history as the first University of Mount Union student to attend and present at the Injury Biomechanics Symposium at The Ohio State University, held from May 22-24. Lazzara’s research studied the secondary effects of heading a soccer ball on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee.

Mount Union Introduces New Student-Athlete Mentorship Program

Mount Union’s sport business program, in conjunction with the Office of Athletics has announced a Student-Athlete Mentorship Program that will help student athletes with their academic, athletic and professional careers.

Mount Union Exercise Science Students Place Second at International Research Conference

Seven students from the University of Mount Union’s Department of Exercise, Sport, and Nutrition Sciences shared their original research at the International Society of Sports Nutrition 19th Academic Conference held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Abigail Stack '24 and Lauren Roncone '24 won 2nd place for Best Undergraduate Research Poster.

Hoffman '22 and Stitzel '22 "Bridge the Gap" By Winning Poster Competition at International Conference

The University of Mount Union’s civil engineering student group was one of two winners for the International Bridge Conference’s (IBC) James D. Cooper student poster competition, which is open to college engineering students worldwide. With less than 20 total winners of the James D. Cooper competition, the group made history as the first Mount Union students to receive this honor.

Stark Community Foundation Awards $100K Grant for Community Center Authored by UMU's Schroeder, Still

The Stark Community Foundation (SCF) recently awarded a $100,000 grant to support the Alliance Area Community Learning Center for Adults, Youth and Children. The initiative is being led by Dr. Kristine Still, founding dean of the College of Applied and Social Sciences at the University of Mount Union, and Abby Schroeder, director of Mount Union’s Regula Center for Public Service.
