DENVER, Colorado — Sharing his experiences in Pakistan as part of the Fulbright Specialist Program, Dr. John Recchiuti, professor of history and co-chair of the Department of Social Sciences the University of Mount Union, recently presented at the 46th Annual Fulbright Association Conference in Denver.
In his poster session, Recchiuti focused on his work with graduate students and faculty in Islamabad with regard to American and Pakistan politics in the context of America’s founding ideals and institutions—including representative democracy, religious tolerance, freedom of speech and commercial society. He addressed issues of political structure, culture and women’s rights.
Recchiuti has been an expert consultant on the Fulbright Specialist Roster since April and will continue to serve in that capacity until 2026. His experience is a testament to the global reach of Mount Union, and the invaluable experiences the University’s faculty bring back to campus.
Mount Union’s Dr. Mandy Capel was recently announced to the Fulbright Specialist roster for her experience in the field of education. This illustrates the expertise available to students at Mount Union, with few schools across the country featuring two Fulbright Specialists in different fields.
