Recreation and Intramurals

Mount Union offers a wide variety of services to promote and support recreation and wellness. The McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (the MAAC) is used by students, faculty, and staff, and includes the McPherson Center for Health and Well Being, the Timken Physical Education Building, Hammond Natatorium, fitness center, the auxiliary gymnasium, and the Peterson Fieldhouse.

INTRAMURALS

Mount Union Intramurals consists of a variety of competitive sports and activities throughout the year. The programs are directed toward the students, faculty, and staff of Mount Union. Intramurals promote physical activity, healthy competition, and overall well-being in an organized setting. Currently, 1,400 students participate in intramurals at Mount Union. Each team is led by a captain and participates in an average of two events per week. Monday - Thursday: 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Friday: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. 

Saturday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Sunday: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Hours and availability may change due to COVID-19 guidelines.

Our three main levels to our MAAC facility are home to various resources and house our cardio and weightroom. These areas offer a wide range of free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, exercise mats and various exercise machines open to use during the MAACs hours of operation. Equipt with lockers, water stations and shower facilities for those looking for a quick workout between classes. Worried about it being crowded? Our athletic teams train in a seperate training facility to maximize the MAACs resources for students.
