Nursing major

The Nursing Department and the Mount Union community supported me at every stage of learning.

Education

BSN

Hometown

Alliance, Ohio

Why Mount Union?

Mount Union is already like home from living in Alliance, but the faculty and Nursing department is like a family that supports each other every step of the way. I am also an Investment Alliance scholar from Alliance High School. I have also received scholarships from the Elks Lodge, Paul and Carol David Foundation, Ann McConahay Educational Foundation, and the John and Roene Klusch Scholarship.

Passion for Nursing

I have always had a passion for helping others and nursing is the perfect fit for me to do that. Through the summer contact tracing clinical at the Stark County Health Department, I was able to volunteer at a migrant clinic for workers in Ohio. This was an awesome experience to understand a different group of people and be involved with their care. I want to keep an open mind to all areas of nursing. The professors I have had are so passionate and enthusiastic about learning. They have equipped me with the critical thinking skills and knowledge to make me a great nurse. The Nursing Department and the Mount Union community supported me at every stage of learning. I am excited to see what opportunities are ahead of me after graduation.

Advice to Future Raiders

Look into what the school is really about. Go to the school that is accepting and genuinely wants to see you succeed. Find out if they have clubs and organizations in which you would want to be involved. Do not be afraid to try new things and get out of your comfort zone.
