Mount Union, Alliance High School Continue Successful Educational Mentorship Program
October 15, 2026ALLIANCE — Building on the achievements of previous years, students in Mount Union’s Multicultural Education course once again mentored Alliance High School (AHS) students to help them develop their post-secondary career plans.
After the AHS students took the OhioMeansJobs aptitude test, the Mount Union students met individually with 31 AHS sophomores over a few months to help them explore possible career paths. The university students then offered advice to the high school students on a presentation for members of the Mount Union and Alliance communities.
The partnership will expand further this year, as the groups will go on a field trip in November to local businesses to learn more about industry success in the Alliance area.
“This is the fourth year I have been doing this project with my students, and it’s a great partnership for us!” Said Dr. Mary Beth Henning, professor of education at Mount Union.
